Mychal has been practicing law since 2006 with an emphasis on bankruptcy, creditors’ remedies, banking, and commercial litigation. He is licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin state, federal and bankruptcy courts. He has had prior positions with the United States Department of Justice Civil Tax Division, two downtown firms and a suburban firm. He previously worked at Manty & Associates from 2014 through 2018.
Mychal has handled trials and evidentiary hearings as lead counsel and has conducted more than 100 hearings and depositions. He also has appellate experience through appearing on several occasions before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Eighth Circuit Bankruptcy Appellate Panel, and the Minnesota Court of Appeals.
He has been involved substantial litigation in several large bankruptcies and receiverships in Minnesota, including Hecker, Petters, Genmar, the Archdiocese of Minneapolis-Saint Paul, and First United Funding. While he has primarily been involved in bankruptcy and creditor litigation, he has worked on general commercial litigation including real estate, landlord-tenant, ERISA matters, contract and warranty claims, and township matters.
With the experience of representing banks and credit unions throughout his career, Mychal rounds out his practice by counseling financial institutions on a wide array of matters.
He is a former ex-officio member of the board of directors of the Minnesota chapter of the Risk Management Association and served a term as an officer and chair of the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Bankruptcy Section.
Outside of the office, Mychal spends his time with his wife raising their three daughters, which includes lots of time at gymnastics meets and figure skating rinks. He is a member of the board of directors of the Roseville Figure Skating Club. His family attends Grace Church in Roseville. He is also a seasoned cook and guitarist.
